instead of going after people who fall asleep on park benches, the nparks people should go after those who cause damage, wilfully or otherwise, to these park benches.
the irresponsible people who are responsible for these acts of vandalism fall under one or a combination of these categories:
1 do not understand written english
2 do not care about anything
3 think of their own interest
4 do not realise that heat can be transferred and that the wood will be charred even if you have a layer between the burning charcoal and the bench

Hey, maybe the burn marks were caused by people making out, erm... I mean sleeping on the benches. It could have happened during the "heat of the moment". That could have been the reason why NParks are going after people who sleep on park benches. Being in the business of plants, it is understandable that they always believe in going to the root cause of the problem.
Maybe some people have hot butts.
Maybe it was the work of a certain escaped fugitive, who may still be living out in the woods and parks of Singapore.
From one of those who dozed off and whose pocket was burnt for paying $200…
