thick, black smoke billowing into the sky around kranji at 4.00 p.m. definitely not a bush fire. must be some factory packed with wood or rubber burning away.
reminds me of the days when fire destroyed squatter colonies like the one at bukit ho swee.
at 6.00 p.m., when i was returning from kranji, the fire seemed to have grown bigger.

The news reported that it was a fire at a factory in Sungei Kadut St 1. It is believed that the factory deals largely with timber. No injuries or deaths have been reported.
