balestier group at henderson waves
today, for the first time i encountered the waves at henderson: wave after wave of walkers coming from the direction of harbourfront. we had started at telok blangah hill and headed for seah imm car-park. it looked very much like we were going against the natural flow of human traffic. corporate, church, school and family groups all seemed to have a preference for starting the walk from harbourfront.
we covered the stretch which includes the henderson waves, faber walk and marang trail in about one hour. today, there were only nine of us. lay bee was down with flu, kwan, cheng hong and thai soon could not make it and puay heian was at home busy preparing for her grand birthday celebration in the evening.
nah actually proposed taking a different route to hit the faber walk but we felt that we could and had to take the tough road because of the extra calories we had loaded at the food centre. along the route back to telok blangah hill, we were introduced by lena - albert's wife - to a cashew nut tree and a tall tree with fruits that look like buah duku.
