what used to be here?


in the second photo, bounded by the four lamp-posts was a structure. what was the structure that used to occupy this irregular patch. i do not think it was octagonal in shape (like this).

icemoon, yes, the building is the former alkaff mansion at telok blangah hill park.

icemoon, sorry, i have been very busy the past week and i shall still be busy until the end of this month...attending three weddings in three different countries. will post the answer when i get back from australia. but, you can actually find the answer the victor's way..by googling. just go to google image and type: alkaff mansion.

i must thank victor for posting the picture(answer) because i cannot find the one i took sometime ago when the fountain was still around. i think they remove the fountain because it was a source of mosquito breeding.
