where in s'pore is this archway?

this is the entrance to a quiet and serene place. a place where men and women work quietly, tending to the manicured lawn and the many flowering and non-flowering plants. a place where the only noise seems to come from the birds which like to think they own the place. i saw spotted doves, orioles, parakeets and of course, the javan mynahs, the most common resident birds in singapore.

yes, it is the kranji war memorial. i wanted to wait for someone to identify the place correctly before posting the other pictures.

there is more information on this place to be found at this website

i was surprised to learn from this website that our country's first two presidents were buried at kranji. in all my previous visits to kranji, i had only seen one tomb - that of president benjamin sheares. today, i found out where the other tomb - belonging to encik yusof bin ishak, singapore's first president - was. it was at another far corner of the big field.
