There was a pasar malam near site nearby Hyatt Hotel. After the night's business, the hawkers packed up their goods and disappeared. The only difference is that, they are there nightly.<br />Pasar malam hawkers were licensed by the Hakwers Dept. Each occupied at pitch (4'x 6')marked on the floor. Illegal hawkers usually joined up at the last licensed pitch.PChewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01246226278619934355noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7826590137201441127.post-76563864182977337442009-05-28T10:27:09.358+08:002009-05-28T10:27:09.358+08:00Was it a smelly pasar malam due to proximity with ...Was it a smelly pasar malam due to proximity with night soil center?Icemoonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08174805596607457468noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7826590137201441127.post-26725511061717517122009-05-28T10:26:20.773+08:002009-05-28T10:26:20.773+08:00This comment has been removed by the author.Icemoonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08174805596607457468noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7826590137201441127.post-80092724207276553922009-05-28T07:47:36.906+08:002009-05-28T07:47:36.906+08:00victor, today, the bencoolen link and waterloo str...victor, today, the bencoolen link and waterloo street area has stalls that are open 7 days a week, day and night. reminds me of "ladies' street" in hong kong.yghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07054865524193859788noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7826590137201441127.post-15779311713604683752009-05-28T01:31:31.450+08:002009-05-28T01:31:31.450+08:00In the 1960s, there was a pasar malam in Albert St...In the 1960s, there was a pasar malam in Albert Street (the portion opposite the old Bugis Street) which opened 7 days a week. Some stalls were opened in the same location every night. I lived near this area and I used to visit it quite often. It was always crowded when the weather was fine.Victorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10339178864363140977noreply@blogger.com
